A Future Begins with a Book: Empowering Rural Children Through Education
At PGSSS, we believe that every child—no matter where they are born—deserves a chance to dream, learn, and lead.
In the remote villages of Bahraich and surrounding districts of Uttar Pradesh, the sound of chalk on blackboards is more than just a lesson—it’s a lifeline. For many children in these areas, education is not a given, but a gift.
From broken classrooms to long walks to school, the barriers are real. But so is the potential. And that’s where Parivartan Grameen Samaj Sevi Sanstha (PGSSS) comes in.
The educational challenges in these rural areas are staggering. Many schools lack basic facilities like proper classrooms, benches, blackboards, and access to clean drinking water. Children often attend class without books, uniforms, or even a pair of slippers. Economic hardship forces many of them to work from a young age, and girls frequently drop out due to family pressure or the absence of clean toilets. Without access to education, these children grow up with limited choices, no skills, and little hope.
PGSSS is transforming lives through education. Its Adopt-a-Child Education Initiative enables donors to sponsor a child’s full academic needs—tuition, meals, uniforms, and supplies. The organization also runs Learning Support Centers that offer tutoring and emotional support, helping children stay in school. Special focus is given to girls through menstrual hygiene education and gender-sensitive infrastructure, ensuring they not only attend but thrive.
A Story of Hope: Aditi and Adarsh Sati
From the remote village of Dewal in District Pauri Garhwal, Aditi Sati is a shining example of how timely support can shape bright futures. Once adopted by Parivartan for educational aid, Aditi has now successfully passed her 12th grade and earned a place in the Parivartan Scholarship Merit List 2025. Her journey is deeply inspiring—not just for her academic achievements, but for the resilience she embodies.
Her brother, Adarsh Sati, also walked the Parivartan path. Given free education up to 8th grade, he is now in 12th at GIC Kot and was the topper of his school in 10th standard. These siblings represent countless other stories of hope and success made possible by Parivartan’s commitment to rural education.
At its core, education is more than reading and writing. It builds confidence, opens doors, and empowers children to make informed decisions. Educated children grow into adults who are healthier, more financially independent, and more likely to uplift their communities. Education is one of the most effective ways to break the cycle of poverty, reduce child marriage, and prevent child labor.
